Big Mac, one of McDonald’s famous menus, was invented in 1967 by McDonald’s franchisee, 89-year-old Jim Delligatti in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. And the triple-decker burger is turning 40 this year.
The Big Mac is certainly one of the most popular sandwiches in many countries. It is a type of cheeseburger, consists of two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.
To celebrate the burger’s 40th anniversary, Jim Delligatti and his family opened a Big Mac Museum Restaurant in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania on August 23, 2007.
There are full of memorabilia and celebratory exhibits. The world’s largest Big Mac statue that is 14 feet high and 12 feet wide is display in the museum restaurant also.
