Man Accused of Ripping Head Off Live Duck
A 26-year-old man Scott D. Clark of Denver was accused for ripping the head off a live duck in Embassy Suites Hotel lobby’s ornamental pond on Sept. 22, 2007, St. Paul police Sgt. John Wuorinen said.
Scott D. Clark was a guest of the hotel in St. Paul; he grabbed the duck and ripped its head from its body in front a hotel security guard, and other hotel guests were witnessed the incident in early Saturday morning.
He told the onlookers, “I’m hungry. I’m gonna eat it.” Hotel security guards detained him until police arrived.
“He was allegedly drunk,” police Sgt. John Wuorinen said.
He remained jailed Sunday on suspicion of felony animal cruelty and was scheduled to appear in court Monday to be charged.
He could face up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine if he is found guilty.
