The stage was set, the two top contestants of Amul Star Voice Of India, Harshit and Ishmeet waited for the clarion call, all ready to set the stage on fire. The judges tried to hide their nervousness, since the final judgment would come from the audience poll. Host for the evening Shaan too was in high spirit.
The grand finale began with Shaan’s performance as he took the audience on a nostalgic tour narrating the entire process of selection all over again and sharing clippings of the celebrities who graced the show from time to time. The other 10 contestants who made their exits in the previous rounds too were back to perform and cheer for their two friends in the final round.
It was an evening of surprises. The series began by ushering in gorgeous Madhuri Dixit, who had come to promote her forthcoming film Aaja Nachle, releasing next week. The crowd cheered for her as she wished luck to both Harshit and Ishmeet. The actress even hummed two lines from her forthcoming film, much to the audience’s delight.
Another performance by Alka Yagnik, one of the judges of the show, with the Harshit and Ishmeet was highly appreciated by the crowd.
The audiences were in for an even bigger surprise as none other than Lata Mangeshkar graced the show with her presence. Lataji received a standing ovation as she sang a few lines from the film Mohabattein. She praised the judges for their hard work and encouraged the two participants. She said, "Keep singing, this is not the end. Both of you are winners." The excitement of the contestants knew no bounds as she gifted them a self-designed diamond watch each , with embedded musical keys, especially manufactured by her jewellery designer brand, Swaranjali.
Abhilasha was chosen the best female singer of the contest. She was handed over the keys of a brand new Chevrolet Sparkz. Alka Yagnik raised an interesting point as why Indian audiences are so biased when it comes to voting for female contestants. Alka rued, "It really pains to see the female contestants getting less number of votes than their male counterparts. The viewers should encourage female contestants who are equally great fighters."
Harshit and Ishmeet perfomed non-stop till it was time to declare the results. The competition came to a nail biting finish as Lata ji declared Ishmeet the winner of Amul Star Voice Of India. The winner got a three-year contract from Big Music and a brand new red Chevrolet Aveo Yuva. Runner up Harshit was handed over a trophy by Lata Mangeshkar.
