When you go in to watch the ten short films of Dus Kahaniyaan , expect to see a whole lot more. We are talking of the four promos of forthcoming films that were shown before the screening. White Feathers Films, the producers of Dus Kahaniyaan launched their banner White Feathers Art Film. Their debut production The Great Indian Butterfly and Pankh seemed completely out of the ordinary. Apart from these there was Nagesh Kukunoor’s Bombay to Bangkok and Rohit Shetty’s Sunday as well. Here’s what you should expect...
Bombay to Bangkok
Nagesh Kukunoor is back and this time it’s comedy and starring his favourite Shreyas Talpade along with Thai actress Lena Christensen. Promising to be a comedy from the word go, the film speaks of a petty thief (Shreyas) who ends up in Bangkok and meets the beautiful Thai girl. Through various circumstances he ends up posing as a doctor. Things don’t help when the wannabe rapper don threatens the thief. Nagesh Kukunoor’s comedies have been different and this one too looks the same. In fact, the tagline says - ‘Same Same but different’.
Sunday
Another comedy film with a thriller element in it! The Golmaal team is back once again in the form of Sunday . Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi and director Rohit Shetty seem to continue where they left off last time in Golmaal . Though, it doesn’t seem too different from recent comedies that we have witnessed, we can’t underestimate a hit combo. Ayesha Takia looks extremely beautiful and Irrfan Khan playing a struggling actor who imitates Himesh Reshammiya.
The Great Indian Butterfly
This film has been doing the rounds in the festival circuits and is quite appreciated internationally. Judging by the promo, a young urban couple takes a trip in search of a mystical butterfly which is said to bring peace. However, during their search they have arguments which causes problems in their relationship. The lead pair Aamir Bashir and Sandhya Mridul show good chemistry which is required for a film which isn’t completely mainstream.
Pankh
The first promo of Pankh comes in as a surprise considering that the film was promoted on Bipasha Basu’s name. The film however, showcases the adult life of a child star. The child earlier known as Baby Kusum is actually a boy but is known only as a girl because he was always shown as a girl in films. Growing up, he faces an identity crisis and struggles to discover his true self. Maradona Robello who plays the main lead looks to emote well in the promo. He is given adequate support by Lillette Dubey who plays his mother.
