Believe it or not, but you have to believe it! Salman Khan might have worked with Bhagyashree in Maine Pyar Kiya almost two decades ago but this particular film helped Bhagyashree and her husband Himalaya escape mob fury.
Himalaya Dassani, Bhagyashree’s husband, confirmed, "We had to gone Calcutta for a social commitment. When we were leaving our hotel, the driver told us that people were protesting on the road against Taslima Nasreen and it would be very risky to travel. But we requested him to take us, as it was very important to leave. So, the driver agreed but promised to take us through a different route."
"When we were passing through a narrow lane, we saw a mob of 15-20 people coming from the opposite direction. The crowd was coming nearer and our heartbeats were beating harder. The people started banging our car and we were all scared. But suddenly, a man from the mob recognised Bhagyashree and shouted, ’She is an actor and has acted in a film opposite our hero Salman Khan’. Hearing this, the people immediately stopped banging our car and specially escorted us till we reached a safe place," he sighed.
The relieved Himalaya who almost lost his life, added, "Thanks to God and them for recognising my wife Bhagyashree, otherwise it would have been another story. We had a scary experience of our life which we will never forget."
