Yash Raj has sent out a press release announcing Aditya Chopra’s next directorial venture being Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead opposite a new girl.
Till just few days back, Aditya was almost about to finalise a two hero project with SRK and Hrithik Roshan but it is learnt that SRK in these last few days managed to persuade the Chopra scion to make a solo lead film with him.
Our sources inform, “The news had been leaked out a few weeks back about the Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge maker about to announce his next with the King Khan, Hrithik and Rani in the lead. Actually he had zeroed down on two scripts - one a two male lead starrer and other one a solo hero romantic comedy. SRK was not too keen on going ahead with the two hero film, especially with the Bollywood superhero along with him. He knew very well how Hrithik had managed to get the entire credit of Dhoom 2 for himself. SRK then started making more rounds to the Yash Raj office to convince Aditya into making a love story like DDLJ which had been his forte. Aditya has always had great respect for SRK from the time they made history together with DDLJ. Now with 2007’s solo super hit for Yash Raj being the SRK starrer Chak De India, Aditya too thought it wouldn’t be nice to turn down the King Khan’s request and he changed his decision at the last minute and opted for a love story with just SRK in the lead with a new actress opposite him.”
Another source however adds, “Hrithik’s non-committal approach when it came to giving dates for the Aditya Chopra film also tilted the choice of subject to SRK’s favour. Hrithik is giving top priority to his two home productions, Krrish 2 and a film to be directed by Anurag Basu. With no easy dates available of his anytime sooner, Aditya thought it’s better to go ahead with his lucky mascot - Shah Rukh Khan. With Aishwarya Rai - SRK coming together completely ruled out Aditya was having a tough time choosing from the present lot of actresses. The choice of going in for a newcomer then struck to him seeing the success SRK - Deepika Padukone jodi got last year with Om Shanti Om. Aditya, however is going to rope in Hrithik for a small part in his film.”
Shah Rukh Khan is to begin shooting for Karan Johar’s next - My Name Is Khan around August this year. He is not shooting for any other project till then.

Eight years after his directorial debut Dilwale Dulhaniy Le Jaayenge producer-director Aditya Chopra is once again back with his next directorial venture Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with none other than Shahrukh Khan in the lead. A new girl will be introduced opposite King Khan in the lead. The hunt for the girl is now on. The shooting will commence from May 2008. The film, to be produced by Yash Chopra, will be written and directed by Aditya Chopra.
After directing his second film Mohabbatein way back in 2000, Aditya had taken a conscious break from direction to set up and develop India’s first studio model making Yash Raj Films a name to reckon with. In the years that followed, YRF, under the keen eye of Aditya, produced blockbusters such as Dhoom, Dhoom-2, Hum Tum, Bunty Aur Babli, Salaam Namaste, Fanaa and Chak De India. He also took to writing his father Yash’s directorial venture Veer-Zaara in 2004. This will be Aditya’s third directorial venture.
