Team India’s Test captain Anil Kumble will make his debut in a film called Meerabai Not Out. The leg spinner will play a cameo in the film which revolves around a keen cricket fan played by Mandira.
About the Indian captain’s role in the film, she says, “He will be seen in one or two scenes. I don’t know about his acting skills but it’s good that I have worked with such a great sportsperson who is kind hearted and down to earth. In real also I’m a great fan of his so I was very excited to work with him. I’m eagerly awaiting the release.”
About her character, Mandira says, “I play Meera Achrekar, a mathematics teacher at Vishwaprem Vidyalaya. She has been happy and single for quite a while but the great love of her life has been cricket and Anil Kumble. Unlike most teachers of her school, she is more fanatical about her religion-cricket-than even the school cricket captain. It is a love story but a very crazy one.”
