Yes, it’s true! In his forthcoming flick Hastey-Hastey, comedian Rajpal Yadav, will be seen locking lips with an American girl. We spoke exclusively to Rajpal Yadav about it and also about the movie.
“It was a normal experience and nothing which was different. One of my characters in the movie keeps on chasing phirangi girls and even likes to hang around with them. The script demanded it so as an actor it is my job to perform rather than create any trouble around the scene. For me also it was a character and nothing more than that because even as a person I myself did not want to do anything which would look false on the screen. When the movie is released, everybody will see for themselves,’ Rajpal says about the kissing scene.
Since Rajpal has not kissed on screen in the past, we asked him about his initial reaction to the scene, “I was told about the scene when the script was narrated to me. So it is not like that I was not told and suddenly the scene was included. But I had my reservations and even the producer of the film had promised me that the scene would be done as per my convenience and not in an unhealthy manner. So going with the word of the producer I readily agreed to do it. Is there any criteria that a comedian cannot do kissing scenes?” questions Rajpal.
About his wife’s reaction, he says, “Why would she have a problem? It was done on-screen and for a film which the script demanded and I was not doing it in real, it was just a performance. So she was fine with it”.
Hastey-Hastey stars Jimmy Shergill, Rajpal Yadav and Nisha Rawal who is a newcomer in the lead roles. For the first time in his career Rajpal would be playing a triple role of father who is good person at heart, son who is a complete flirt and uncle who is mad.
