Sammir Dattani starrer Mukhbiir, which was supposed to release this Friday, has been delayed to August 1. But the actor is not depressed.”I have done with my job so I’m not dejected that my film got postponed. The main concern is for the producers and the distributors to decide when the film will be released. The film deals with various aspects so naturally more time is needed for publicity,” explains Sammir.
On the reason behind the postponement, he says, “The producers were not satisfied with the style of publicity so they want to redo it. This film is for the Mumbai Police and so my producers were supposed to hold a special screening for Mumbai Police. That will also happen next week now.”About MukhbiirIn the film, Sammir Dattani plays a Mukhbiir (informer). The film directed by Mani Shankar (of 16th December fame) depicts the complex life of an informer, who plays an integral and vital part in police intelligence gathering. What happens if their identity is revealed? What happens to their dependents if they get killed?Sammir Dattani plays an unusual role in the film. The informer in the film is
a Hindu who gets converted to Islam. Why? To avenge the death of his girlfriend, who dies under mysterious circumstances. The deep mystery surrounding the character is the core of the story.
