While the other stars make headlines for getting awards, the talented Aamir Khan hogs the limelight for accepting them in person! Nevertheless, the awards have tremendous significance for this ace actor who couldn’t stop himself from crying as he accepted the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Award for his directorial debut ‘Taare Zameen Par’.
The actor who is known to shun awards and the melodrama surrounding them, went down to Chennai to collect the prestigious Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Endowment Award
Speaking about the film, an emotionally overwhelmed Aamir said: “I fell in love with the script and the story. I wanted to show it to the people of this country and the audience. It sensitised me towards my own kids and I am happy that it has sensitised parents who have children with such problems like dyslexia.”
Aamir Khan’s emotional outburst while accepting the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Award surely goes against the popular belief that awards don’t have much relevance for this ace actor. Mr Perfectionist further announced that the flick ‘Taare Zameen Par’ would be dubbed in Tamil as Vaal Natchathiram and in Telugu as Neelimegha Taralu.
