And we thought Akki and Sallu were warring for Kat! According to reports, Akshay Kumar actually asked Salman Khan, when he intended to marry Katrina Kaif. Akshay and Katrina were on the sets of Sallu’s Dus Ka Dum when, out of the blue, Akki popped this question. Now, if it was an ultimatum or a genuine concern needs to be sorted out. Akshay and Katrina’s latest venture, Singh Is Kinng, is a hit and once again their perfect chemistry is the talk of the town. Hence, Akshay’s seemingly lighthearted question came as a surprise to many.
However, the Khiladi doesn’t find anything surprising. He asks, “So what wrong did I say. If he is your friend, you would ask such a question. I didn’t say anything wrong, did I?” Initially there were reports of a tiff between the action king and Bollywood’s bad boy. Their object of affection was allegedly the same. But looking at their onscreen camaraderie, it looked like Mission Friendship was in action.
Considering their current amity, ask Akshay if he intends to play a mediator between Shah Rukh Khan and Sallu and he has a firm no for an answer. According to him, “I don’t have to say anything. They are not children. They are grown ups. If they are fighting, they will patch up on their own. Even when my son fights with his friends I don’t interfere. I don’t have any idea as to what it’s all about. It happens.”
There came a point when Salman called Akshay as the current King of Bollywood. Obviously, it was a dig on Bollywood’s very own King Khan. Nevertheless, being at his diplomatic best, Akshay says, “I would say it is wrong to compare people. Whatever we do, the money we make comes in one kitty called the ‘industry’. If we start making comparisons, we’ll feel small in stature.” Now, if only Akshay actually provided some action sans the politically correct statements.
