In Ravi Chopra ’s Banda Ye Bindaas Hai , Tabu will be playing a naughty lawyer.
The acclaimed actress has never played a completely over the top sensuous character before and is excited to play the part in this Hollywood comedy, My Cousin Vinny’s Bollywood remake.
Reports are that Chopra managed to convince Tabu in playing a sexy character for the film. When she was first offered the part by him she had declined it.
But after a lot of deliberation, Chopra managed to get The Namesake starlet going in for the role. The role requires Tabu to expose her body. But since the film is a comedy she won’t be presented in a vulgar manner.
The same part was earlier offered to Bollywood hotties, Bipasha Basu , Mallika Sherawat and even Sushmita Sen . But they had refused the role calling it too insubstantial. But Tabu has taken up the role as a challenge of attempting something, which she has never done before in Bollywood.
Tabu will be seen playing a lawyer and fights the court case opposite Govinda and reports add it’s a dashing and challenging role.
‘Banda Ye Bindaas Hai’ is an official remake of Oscar winning Hollywood comedy, ‘My Cousin Vinny’. The original had Joe Pesci playing a bumbling middle-aged lawyer fighting his first case, a murder case, to hilarious consequences.
In solving the case he is shown aided by his girlfriend (Marisa Tomei in an Oscar winning role) and forever put to test by the public prosecutor. In Chopra’s film, Govinda shall be replacing Joe Pesci whereas Lara Dutta will play his girl friend’s role.
For the nasty public prosecutor’s part, Chopra has decided to cast a female character instead of the male in the original, which shall be enacted by Tabu.
