On the first look poster for Aamir Khan’s next release Ghajini, a tattoo on Aamir Khan’s biceps had the number of a certain Dr. Surekha Verma. This was a number that was chosen randomly and, as far as Aamir’s publicity team were aware, belonged to no one. However, this was not the case and as soon as people saw the poster they started dialling that number. Dr. Verma was inundated with phone calls from all sorts of people. Says Surekha, “The non-stop frantic calls asking for Aamir had turned vulgar and obscene.” Dr. Verma had to resort to switching off her phone.
Now Aamir has come to read about Dr. Verma’s situation and has come up with an ideal way to help her out. Says a source, “On reading about Surekha’s plight, Aamir immediately apologised to the lady via the media. He then got in touch with Surekha. He had a long conversation with her (Surekha), apologised profusely and told her that he understood how inconvenient it must have been for her. He told her that it was not intentional but just an unfortunate coincidence. He wished her Happy Diwali and also assured her that his staff would get in touch with her and provide her with a new phone connection.
