He is perhaps the biggest star Indian cinema has ever produced. He has witnessed ups and downs in life but he never stoops. He has stood the tests of time. In spite of all the wealth, success and fame he has earned, Amitabh Bachchan is humble as ever. And he makes sure that he keeps in touch with his fans though he is not in good health of late.
The Big B was recently hospitalised for acute abdominal pain. Surprisingly, he took time to write to his fans as soon as he was discharged instead of taking rest. He wrote about his rapport with son Abhishek Bachchan, the on-going test match between India and Australia and more.
"I spend time with Abhishek. Just the two of us. I always wished if I ever had a son he would be my friend first.We treat each other such. He with greater respect. We often do this. Talk of life and work and circumstances and just so many worldly matters. Good to have a trusted bouncing board. I learn a few things from him and he from me. A media question dwells on this. The country’s fathers compliment your son for being what embodies a son in Abhishek. Inwardly it brings pride. But I would not have had it otherwise. He was the way he is by himself. I have not trained him particularly, nor has Jaya," wrote Amitabh in his blog.
Like any Indian, Amitabh also follows every ball an Indian bowls to the Aussies and every stroke executed by Indian batsmen. "The TV becomes my constant companion and luckily, through out the day, there is cricket and victorious expectations on India’s performance against Australia. Sachin with his glorious record, Sourav with his gritty knock, Amit Misra with his historic debut bowling, Zaheer’s ball that uprooted Hayden"s wicket and the lustrous hair of Ishant in slow motion. And of course Dhoni - a symbol of cool confidence and humility. He had dropped by on the sets of ’Baabul’ to meet me and has remained in touch through common friends from Bihar," wrote the Big B.
Now we know why Amitabh has huge fans following all over the world. He loves them like they love him!
