The past one week for the Bachchan family has been extremely stressful. What was set to be a happy occasion - Bachchan’s birthday on October 11 - turned horribly wrong with the senior star being rushed to Nanavati and then Lilavati. And just when it looked like things were finally settling, news has come in that Aishwarya’s father who is suffering from cancer is back in hospital.
“The Bachchan family was really under pressure when Mr. Bachchan was admitted again to the hospital. During the tests everyone was very tensed especially Abhishek. Amitji too was worried because of the abdominal pain as it was similar to the previous tme when he had been operated,” says a close associate of the family.
“Apart from Bachchans even their close friends were by Abhishek and Aishwarya’s side. Goldie was with Abhishek all day on Sunday when the final reports had to arrive. Until the medical report showed everything was normal we all were worried. Amitji will take rest for at least one week. But now Aishwarya’s father is hospitalized which will throw her and Abhishek’s shooting schedule upside down once again,” informs the source.
The actor had been admitted in hospital in November 2005 for a colonic surgery. Prior to that in 1982 Amitabh Bachchan had suffered a serious stomach injury while shooting his own action sequence for the film Coolie. The injury had been life threatening and resulted in his hospitalization for 22 days.
