Actor Aamir Khan is relieved that his much-awaited film Ghajini is finally releasing on schedule."There was a lot of stress during last 24 hours. Advance booking is four times more than the record advance booking any film has ever got", he said.
Essaying the role of a character with a short-term memory loss was extremely challenging, he added. "Initially when the role was offered to me, I was hesitant and felt that I would not suit the role. But actor Surya who plays the protagonist in the original movie by the same name, persuaded me to take up the challenge, saying only I could do justice to it", he said.
When asked about a film being made after a villain, Aamir said Ghajini was a clue which the hero chases to find killer of his fiance.
Asked about Salman Khan’s painting on Ghajini, Aamir said he was touched by Salman’s gesture. "I did not know he was such a good artiste", he said.
"I am friend with Salman as well as Shah Rukh. There are no camps in the industry", Aamir said when asked if he and Salman had ’ganged up’ against Shah Rukh.
