LISA LAZARUS is one of the few lucky girls that didn’t really needed to even audition for an entry into Bollywood. But there gotta be some background for such an opportunity… isn’t it? Well, she has plenty of background… the fact that she is Miss UK for 2008 helps tremendously. And so, she entered Bollywood with a straight offer to act opposite Salman Khan in a film titled Veer. This periodic flick obviously has a British character (Angela) for Lisa to portray and so her career begins in the tinsel town.
Lisa Lazarus is a British girl who has always seen Bollywood as a celebration of song and dance. Set in the 1890s, Veer is quite effortlessly big to start with… and according to Lisa, is even bold. She says that she got a call from her modelling agency in the UK stating that the producers of Veer had seen her pictures and were interested in casting her in the film. And in a matter of just 24 hours, she accepted the offer and landed up in Mumbai few weeks later.
Before even winning a beauty pageant, Lisa was a Radiology student who spent her time in hospitals. And from being a would-be Radiologist, to dancing with Salman for her first shot in a bollywood movie… must be a one helluva ride! Initially, she had been worried about her Hindi but as she accepted the offer, she had to work hard for Hindi speaking skills starting with Namastey. She feels that her biggest lessons so far in the film industry have been about dancing and Hindi. Hmmm… that must be true as Salman’s movies seldom need someone to act wisely!… isn’t it?
About her favourite movie stars, she thinks that Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif share a great chemistry and as such they are her favourite actors here and in Hollywood, her all time favourite is Julia Roberts. Although, she hasn’t signed any new projects since Veer, she thinks that she has a great start working with Salman and also says that she would genuinely consider future offers without any preconceived notions.
