Following the attacks in Mumbai on November 26th, security has been stepped up at all major locations in the country. But its not just famous landmarks that are feeling the threat - superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s sea facing palatial home Mannat has also been given increased security following 26/11.
“Normally there is ample parking space near his home where anyone can park their cars. But since the incident took place there is a lot more police patrolling and no one is allowed to park close to his home,” says a local resident.
“Recently someone tried to park their car but they were asked to move it. No vehicle can be parked for a certain distance all around Mannat. Even the police security provided to SRK has been stepped up. You normally see one or two policemen at the gate. But since the attack there has been a police van perpetually stationed outside his home,” adds another source.
One of the biggest things of worry for SRK is probably the fact that his home faces the sea. And with next to no security or patrolling there, it only seems natural to see SRK want to step up security outside his home.
Ever since the attacks took place, Shah Rukh had remained silent on the situation in the city. Speaking to a channel yesterday, SRK said that all the “aggression and anger shown by the youth of the country was a good thing as long as it could be sustained over a period of time.”
“I believe that the youth today will follow the tenets of Gandhiji but they will be a little more realistic too. Let me be honest, my kids will not turn the other cheek. If someone slaps them they will make sure that the person will say sorry. And I see nothing wrong with it,” said Khan, “But I want to appeal to the youngsters of today that if they don’t step on your toes then don’t spit them in the face. But if they do step on your toes…then I don’t see anything wrong with it!”
