Soon after all the IIFA celebration in the Bachchan family, comes some bad news. Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the bahu of the first family of Indian cinema has been emboriled in a legal hassle. Reports say that some land owned by Aishwarya was originally farm land owned by tribals and farmers in the Dhule and Nandurbar districts.
The land was first bought by a windmill company called Suzlon at rates as low as Rs.7000. It was susequently sold to investers including celebrities like Ash, Twinkle Khanna and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh at rates as high as Rs. 36 lakhs.
Bhatiya Janata Party leader Nitin Gadkari has sued the owners of this land.Maharashtra’s non-conventional Energy Minister Vinay Kore has taken the matter very seriously and announced a probe into the disparities of sale and purchase that are evident in this case. If the case is decided in the favour of the original owners, the current owners may have to pay upto Rs.1 lakh per month to them as compensation.
