A women’s blouse stained with blood was found hanging in Michael Jackson’s wardrobe, according to a new report which has added to the mystery over the pop icon’s death.
The white blouse has a price label still attached to it, indicating it had not been worn and could have been used to mopup blood, The Sun reported online.
The blouse was spotted in a set of pictures taken in Jackson’s home, days after the King of Pop died due to a cardiac arrest on June 25.
It is surprising that the police had not seized the blood-stained clothing found in the wardrobe of Jackson’s rented home in Los Angeles as evidence, said leading US lawyer Craig Silverman.
"It’s pretty extraordinary that a bloody shirt would not be taken as evidence," he said.
Silverman, who is not involved with the case, said it could be a clue to what went wrong with Dr Conrad Murray’s treatment of the 50-year-old pop star or the personal physician’s attempts to revive him.
The blouse’s label reads, ’Women’s Clothing-Casual Top’ with a price tag of $3.99.
When asked why the shirt was not taken in by investigators, a spokesman replied, "I don’t know why."
"Our detectives aren’t speaking to the media about the investigation so we won’t have an answer at the moment. I don’t foresee one for some time," he added.
