A week full of fantasy, adventure and emotions from across the world comes to an end - 150 children’s films from 30 countries were screened at 14 venues across Mumbai.
The Mumbai International Children’s Film Festival is scheduled to close at the St Andrews Auditorium, Bandra, Mumbai, on November 12, 2009, at 6:30 pm IST. Excited parents and high-spirited children will join many big names from the cinema world to mark the end of its very first version and beginning of children’s cinematic forum.
Actress Shriya Saran, Anupam Kher, Uma Da Cunha, Amole Gupte and many more will be present at the closing ceremony to make it memorable.
Earlier on November 6, the Festival opened with a grand ceremony held at the National Centre for the Performing Arts NCPA, Nariman Point, Mumbai.
It was attended by the renowned Jurors of the festival - Academy Award winner Megan Mylan, Amole Gupte, Uma Da Cunha. Dr S Jagathrakshakan, minister of state in the union ministry of information and broadcasting, were present at the inaugural function.
Among the other guests present at the opening were - Atalay Tasdiken, director of the opening film, Mommo-The Bogeyman, along with his crew, Robert Reece, ace Bollywood comedian Johnny Lever among others.
Madam Grace Pinto, Managing Director, Ryan International Group of Institutions, expresses her regards for all those who have become a part of this festival. She said, "It has been a wonderful week. We’ve seen children exposed to cultural turf, interacting with renowned film-makers, learning cultural diversities and experiencing human emotions lying across globe, through this fiesta. It is like a dream
coming true."
