Ranbir Kapoor has stepped up efforts to revive his late grandfather, the legendary Raj Kapoor’s R.K. Films banner. Though the actor has denied playing the late star filmmaker in a new film, he says the family has zeroed in on some scripts for a home production. "There has been a lot of progress in our plans to revive the RK banner. We have zeroed in on some scripts and we hope to start production soon," Ranbir told reporters.

"The Kapoor family is in the film industry since the past 80 years starting from my great grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor, to me and my cousins (Karisma and Kareena). I hope we continue to contribute to cinema in the same way," he added.

The RK banner was set up by Raj Kapoor in 1948 and is known for making noted films like "Awaara", "Shri 420" and "Satyam Shivam Sundaram", etc.

Ranbir is working with his father Rishi Kapoor and uncle Randhir Kapoor in finalising the scripts.

The 27-year-old denied reports that he will be starring in a film made on the romance between Raj Kapoor and Nargis but confirmed he would be playing legendary singer Kishore Kumar in a biopic by Anurag Basu.

"It’s completely nonsense. There is no film being made on Raj Kapoor and Nargis. Neither any director, nor any production house has approached me, but yes, I am playing Kishore Kumar in an upcoming film and that film will only be releasing next year," he said.

Ranbir was present here Thursday to unveil Panasonic’s new 3-D Plasma TV. He is the brand ambassador for the product.

Asked about his camaraderie with his cousins Karisma and Kareena, he said: "It’s great. Although we don’t get time to talk to each other frequently due to our busy schedules, but there is a lot of positivity among us and we are very happy with each others’ work."

Ranbir’s upcoming projects are `Rajneeti`, `Anajana-Anjani` and `Rockstar`.
