However, the lady sparked controversies when the panchayat decided to keep Monica in the reality show though fellow-contestants had voted against her and this led to a revolt from the villagers. They openly challenged the decision of their panchayat, terming it “unfair”.
The five remaining contestants, dancer and VJ Ishita Arun, actress Kashmera Shah, model Aushima Sawney and TV star Roshni Chopra stuck together and blamed Monica for being “aloof” and “manipulative”.
In Sunday’s episode after the verdict, the villagers openly accused the panchayat of favoring Monica on account of her being ‘Punjabi’. Over the weekend, she had tried to convince the panchayat members to save her from getting eliminated. She told panchayat member Prem Singh in Punjabi: “After my friend Sambhavna Seth has been eliminated, I am constantly being targeted by the other girls.” However, the panchayat favored Monica and ousted Ishita.
