Veteran actor Dev Anand is all set to remake his 70s hit Hare Rama Hare Krishna that marked the debut of cult actress Zeenat Aman. Our source said, “Hare Rama Hare Krishna received a standing ovation at an international film festival recently. The reaction of the audience took Dev saab as (he is fondly known) by surprise and the audience had only one question to ask him - when was he going to remake Hare Rama Hare Krishna again. Dev saab does not want to let down his fans who have stood by him during all these years in the film industry. He has decided to remake the film.” He is on the look out for a girl who will do justice to the role essayed by Zeenat Aman in the original. As is his usual style, he hopes that he will find a suitable newcomer who will fit the bill since he has always believed in giving newcomers a break.
When contacted Dev saab confirmed the news saying, “Yes, remaking Hare Rama Hare Krishna is very much on my agenda. And it is true that my fans have suggested that I remake the film.” The film was centred around young people and drug abuse and featured the cult hit Dum maro dum.
