If one suspected that Akshay Kumar would be in a sombre mood post the failure of Action Replayy, one would be wrong. The actor who’s currently shooting for his next film Desi Boyz with John Abraham would joke about how both their films Action Replayy and Jhootha Hi Sahi flopped at the box office. “That’s right,” he smiles, “The minute I found out that Action Replayy was a flop, I was on the sets of Desi Boyz. In fact I remember laughing with John about how badly both our movies had just done (John’s Jhootha Hi Sahi had released a fortnight back). I was exactly where I wanted to be - in a studio trying to make the next one work. Well, that’s the story of my life and I am happy with every moment of it.”
Marching ahead with the intense promotional campaign of Tees Maar Khan and ensuring that he puts his best foot forward to make it the most talked-about film before the close of year, Akshay attributes his cheerful mood to the advice that he gives his son Aarav.
“I always tell him that ‘If you cry at trouble it grows double, if you learn to laugh at trouble, it disappears like a bubble’,” philosophises Akshay who was also seen in Khatta Meetha earlier this year.
Still, given the fact that he was pinning a lot of hope on Action Replayy, his much-hyped Diwali release, was it actually so easy for him to simply shrug away the film’s failure?
“No, I was fine actually,” Akshay negates the insinuation. “One must always remember that you can’t fight destiny. You have to move on.”
