Seems like fireworks will happen after all in the month of May with Hrithik Roshan’s Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara facing the challenge posed by Salman Khan’s Ready. Both the movies are set to release in the same week in May. Though there were rumours in the industry that Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara had decided to release on a different day, after announcing the release date earlier, the film’s producer Ritesh Sidhwani has denied any such plans. “Why would Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara not release as planned?” questions Ritesh.
Apparently, the cause behind this rumour is the history behind the Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan face off. The release date of Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara was announced a few weeks back and the film was to release in May. A multi-starrer which also stars Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol, Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara is now well into post production.
However, the shooting for Ready, which is a Salman Khan and Asin starrer, is still on with some of the songs left to be picturised. But the sudden announcement that it will release at the same time as Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara caught everyone by surprise. The speculation is that the films would lead to a Salman-Hrithik clash at the box office. “Many industry folks speculate whether it is a wise decision for these two big films to clash,” says an industry insider, “Rumours started making the rounds that the makers of Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara had decided to take the first step and release on a different date. This also means that Ready and the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rockstar which is also set to release around that time would clash at the box office.”
With Salman still riding the Dabangg wave, and Hrithik receiving high praise for his role in Guzaarish, it remains to be seen who will win this face off
