BIG Cinemas, a division of Reliance MediaWorks, will release and market the theatrical screening rights of Raavanan, in Tamil, and its Telegu dubbed version, Villain, in the USA.
Produced, written and directed by ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam, the film stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles. The film will be released on more than 40 screens across 30 cities across the USA, including self-owned BIG Cinemas’ theatres, making it one of the biggest releases for a South Indian film in the US.

Raavanan fuses drama, action, love and music. The film has been shot in scenic locations from the forests of Kerala, Ooty, Jhansi, Kolkata, and in Maharashtra at Mahabaleshwari and in the Malshej Ghats.
The movie’s music is composed by two-time Academy Award winner A R Rahman. Cinematography is by Santosh Sivan and Manikandan, and editing by A Sreekar Prasad.
The movie is releasing worldwide on June 18, 2010.
