The Filmfare Awards over the weekend were filled with all sorts of action and gossip and most of it took place behind the scenes.
A source present at the ceremony tells us that Kareena’s elder sister, Karisma Kapoor, gave the chhote nawab, Saif Ali Khan, quite an ignore. Seated with hubby Sanjay Kapoor and sister Kareena, the elder sister hasn’t warmed up to Saif Ali Khan as much as the couple would like us to believe.
“Karisma exchanged the initial hi…hello with him but that’s about it. It was all very polite. With Shahid you would actually see her chatting a lot with or without Kareena but here she kept it to the bare minimum. Even before the ceremony began Karisma and Saif happened to cross each other and they just about acknowledged one another,” says the source.
And it seems things were no different at DJ Aqeel’s after party. “Saif and Kareena arrived hand in hand. They just didn’t let go of one another and were more than happy to pose for the cameras. At one point when Karisma and Sanjay were entering Saif happened to be there so they just stood together and smiled for the camera. But that’s about it…” she says. Close friends of the couple suggest that Kareena’s family is yet to warm up to the new man in her life. From what we hear daddy Randhir Kapoor and mommy Babita are not too happy with the alliance. “Kareena is very close to her mum and sister. Karisma’s opinion matters to her in every aspect of her life. Sure right now she is dating Saif which is something that her family may not appreciate but she is desperate to see them warm up to him. In fact she is trying her level best to get Saif and Karisma under the same roof as much as possible,” says the source. It is believed that Karisma and the rest of her family were genuinely very fond of Shahid and felt that he had brought some kind of sanity in Kareena’s life. And now with Saif in the picture the Kapoor khandan is said to be not too happy about this shacking up and therefore is yet to have even have a proper meeting with the man who could very well become their son-in-law!
