Oscar winning English actor Ben Kingsley is uncertain whether the films be planned to shoot in India early next year will go on the floors as planned.
The recent Mumbai terror attacks have had its fallout on not just Bollywood but Hollywood as well. Ben Kingsley, who played Mahatma Gandhi in the Oscar-winning movie ‘Gandhi’, had plans to make films on Taj Mahal and Gautam Buddha in India next year.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live at British Independent Film Awards, Kinglsey said: "I was planning a film there. One or two films there. One was a film about Buddha, the other is not far enough along for me to describe…I was going to be filming definitely in 2009, probably in the first few months of the year."
However, when asked if the recent Mumbai attacks would affect his plans, the actor said, "I am sure it will. It won’t be my decision as to whether we go. It will be the financiers and the producers."
Kingsley added that he was “absolutely horrified” by the attacks and siege in Mumbai.
Rumour has it that even Michael Douglas is rethinking his plans to shoot his film Racing the Monsoon in India early next year.
