Indian born international filmmaker Mira Nair , will be honoured at the 17th Gotham Award function, this year. To be held at New York’s Brooklyn’s Steiner studio, the world renowned director will receive a special award for her contribution to cinema.
Mira Nair who debuted to celebrity status with her maiden venture ‘Salaam Bombay’, which told about the children of the streets of Bombay, had made many notable movies like Mississippi masala, Kamasutra - a tale of love and monsoon wedding. She is currently filming the project Amelia, based on the life story of pilot Amelia.
