Her debut film Dabaang isn’t even complete, but Sonakshi Sinha is all over the place already. The pretty girl has signed Pankaj Kapur’s directorial debut with Shahid Kapoor.
A source tells us, ‘Pankaj Kapur’s directorial debut is called Mausam, and it is an intense love story spanning across ten years. The makers were looking for a fresh face that was beautiful, young and innocent. Their search has ended with Sonakshi. It was producer Sheetal Talwar who approved her for the film. He found Sonakshi to be very charming, stunning and graceful, with an in-born star quality.’
He adds, ‘Shatrugan, Sonakshi and Poonam Sinha would love it if she got the part because they are all huge fans of Pankaj and Shahid Kapur, and being part of Pankaj Kapur’s directorial debut is a very big deal.’
With her doe eyes, sharp features, shapely, tall frame and grace, Sonakshi has already made waves in the fashion industry. She has walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week last year for designers like Pria Kataria Puri, among others. She has also graced magazine covers and makes appearances at events quite regularly. Dabaang, her debut film with Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Sonu Sood will be out in September. She has also signed a Boney Kapoor film.
Sonakshi Sinha said she couldn’t talk about Mausam, as everything was in its initial stages and nothing was confirmed. She couldn’t stop gushing about Salman’s Veer, though, which she saw at a special screening arranged by Alvira Khan, calling it an ‘awesome visual treat with amazing effects, great performances and a gripping plot’.
Mausam will go on the floors soon, once Shahid wraps up the YRF flick with Anushka Sharma. His character in the film is that of a pilot, modeled on Tom Cruise’s Maverick in Top Gun. The film will release early next year.
