Rocket Singh - Salesman Of The Year, starring Ranbir Kapoor as the titular protagonist, doesn’t boast of any popular female stars. Though the movie introduces Shazahn Padamsee, the lack of enough oomph was perhaps nagging producer Aditya Chopra, for he tossed off the idea to director Shimit Amin to have an item song featuring Bipasha Basu to glam things up.
Bipasha has already worked with Yashraj Films in Bachna Ae Haseeno and appeared in a song in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi as well.
Even though Shimit Amin, the director of superb films like Chak De India and Ab Tak Chhappan, is known for his uncompromising work style, he’s learnt to have capitulated to the Yashraj honcho’s demand and agreed to have the item song on Bipasha in the film.
Reports say the song will be shot in a few weeks time, but the banner’s spokesperson is denying it.
Bipasha is known to be very choosy about item songs. She made an exception for Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking and Aditya Chopra’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. Now, it remains to be seen if she truly fires up ‘Rocket Singh’ as well.
